The green cottage on Ängö in Kalmar

Klyvaren 6 on Ängö, popularly also called Gröna stugan, has been a controversial house for many years. The owner, CA Fastigheter, has wanted to use the site for new construction, while the county museum has emphasized that the house on the site has high cultural-historical values. The County Museum has proposed restoration and completion of the building and also ultimately moving the house to a plot next door. In 2010, the county museum produced a cultural-historical investigation of the property on behalf of the property owner. Many Kalmar residents or those connected to Kalmar contact the museum with questions about the property and therefore we have chosen to post the cultural-historical investigation here. So everyone can read about the house and its history. In the early summer of 2019, Kalmar municipality granted the property owner's application to demolish the house.
