Lusthuset Snuskulan

The snuff ball is called the gazebo located in Folkets park in Kalmar. Maps show that during the 1860s there was an octagonal building here. The gazebo was probably rebuilt and until the 1880s when it got its current form.

The upper building is built in a so-called Swiss style, and erected by the then owner, snuff manufacturer Per Oskar Engström. In the same place was Engström's summer residence Lindsberg.

During the renovation in 2018, Kalmar Municipality engaged the County Museum to get advice on traditional materials and methods, for documentation work and to come up with color schemes.

During the renovation, the facade was repaired and repainted, windows and joinery were renovated. The building's dome and hallmarks received a new sheet metal covering called culture plate.
