About the exhibitions
In the fall of 2021, the Unique historical Kalmar county project has created two new exhibitions with the theme of forests and wooden house production in Kalmar county. The exhibition "Spot on - Wooden house traditions in Kalmar county" is shown at the library in Högsby and "Spot on - Wooden house production in Kalmar county" is shown in Flanaden in Oskarshamn.
- In the exhibitions, visitors can follow along on a unique journey about the craftsmanship of wooden house building, the valuable forest and the development and renewal of the wooden house industry, from the 19th century until now. The exhibitions also aim to increase the interest of companies and associations in how they can use that knowledge for their storytelling, says Maja Heuer.
Unique historical Kalmar county is a three-year collaborative project that aims to develop cultural environments in the region in cooperation with small businesses and associations. During the course of the project, clusters with different themes are created where companies and associations offer different products. In connection with that, various exhibitions are shown in the form of the recurring exhibition format "Spot on" which shines a light on these themes.
- With the exhibitions, together with local companies and associations, we want to inspire how local history can contribute to new collaborations between different players in the wood industry in Kalmar County, says Maja Heuer, project manager Unique Historic Kalmar County.
