The secret goes on tour to all the county's municipalities

The feeling of a secret room where there is an opportunity for reflection and rest that can give inspiration to see the surroundings in a different way and discover the secrets that are around us is what visitors can experience when the exhibition Hemligheten goes on tour in Kalmar county. Saturday, September 10, 2022, the exhibition opens at Oskarshamn's library and then moves on to all the county's twelve municipalities until the beginning of 2024.

From October 2021 to the end of May 2022, the Kalmar county museum showed the exhibition "The Secret" which is based on the book of the same name by the author, artist and photographer Jan Nordström. The exhibition is about mental health and about finding a place for courage, comfort and peace and has been designed together with Leif Jordansson, who is a composer, sound artist, musician and writer and Peter Norrman, artist and filmmaker. Now the exhibition has been converted into a traveling exhibition.

- I am happy that the exhibition can continue to be shown, albeit in a smaller format. The exhibition's theme is always relevant and affects us all, which is why we have converted it into a traveling exhibition, says Tina Lindström, educator and responsible for the traveling exhibition, Kalmar County Museum.

The core of the traveling exhibition is a film and music booth where the visitor can encounter a three-dimensional film with music and Jan Nordström's texts through the voices of Rikard Wolff and Peter LeMarc. On fold-out side walls there are texts and pictures from Jan Nordström's book. In the exhibition, the visitor gets the opportunity to reflect on his own secret place in a world that is rushing at an ever faster pace and that asks questions and opens up for answers regarding how we take care of our own well-being.

Media and public are warmly welcome!
